Free-Form Seashell Pendant Bead Embroidery

Have you ever thought of the waves as a patterned bead embroidery design?

I used to think of sand and ocean as two ribbons of two colors: blue and yellow. However, when I started working on this pendant design, I changed my mind…

Even though two ribbons of the sand and the ocean water look very organized from above, in detail, they look fascinating and not organized at all. The elements of their design are rather arranged in a free-form manner.

Ocean and Sand Seashell Pendant

Yes, there is a real seashell in the center of this pendant.
I have an extensive collection of seashells from every beach I have visited. So, I have decided to start incorporating them into beautiful memories. Check out the results of my first experiment here.

Beading Tips and Materials

I used peyote stitch combined with netting stitch.
As for the beads, I used more than 15 types of colors and surface finishes of seed beads.

Would you like to know how to create this pendant from scratch? Or, I should rather say, from a seashell?
