Opalite Flower Earrings

I made the new opalite flower earrings for a special event I was invited to attend in a few days.

It was easy to come up with the design. Part of it is a bezeled Rivoli crystal. I weave around it using my favorite tutorial.

I created a flower using five opalite teardrop beads and seed beads. Opalite is a trading name for synthetic opalescent glass and various opal and moonstone simulants. However, not all opalites are man-made. The term ‘opalite’ is also used to describe a particular variation of common opal that doesn’t display any play-of-color.

If you want to see how I made this flower, let me know in the comments below. The flower part of the earring is then attached to the bezeled crystal.

The opalite flower earrings became part of a more significant beading project which I plan to share with you next month. I had just a couple of days to create the whole set, so I had to choose the speedy stitches and weaving methods to complete it in time.

Happy beading!
