Kona Dreams Necklace Design Part 1

Kona Dreams necklace design was inspired by Hawaii islands, ocean water, Kona coffee, and green turtles.

Do you see the turtle?

Kona Dreams Necklace Design Part 1

In this part, I describe the materials used for the design, time and measurements.

Techniques

I used the following techniques to complete the design:

  • Bead embroidery
  • Beadweaving
  • And a little of wirework

There are glass beads, as well as natural stones used in the design.

Measurements

The focal piece of the necklace measures 7 inches across (in the widest part) and 8.5 inches long.

The length around the neck is 19 inches.

Time

I worked on this design and the implementation for two months. A lot of people are interested in the exact amount of hours, but I don’t feel like that information will help them appreciate the design.

  1. Yes, I am thoroughly interested in all aspects. I’ve wanted to tackle something on this level but am overwhelmed with the start.

    1. Thorough preparation is always crucial for large projects! Allow a lot more time for planning than you usually do. I will cover it in the second part for sure. Thank you for your interest.
