Free Tutorial For Double Spiral Beaded Necklace Chinese Dancer In Just 6 Steps

I was making this double spiral beaded necklace for a Chinese lady who dances and participates in Chinese dance performances often. I decided to share with you this simple pattern because it is relatively easy and quick to make.

Double spiral is an easy way to create beautiful bracelets or necklaces. Adding a little creativity to the pattern you can make an infinite number of different designs.

The beauty is what actually attracts people. So, as you might guess, the secret of the beautiful beaded design is in the bead combinations. Of course, the more beads you combine in a harmonious set, the more attractive your jewelry piece is going to be.

There are a couple of necklaces I have made using double spiral stitch: the Spring Bloomer pearl necklace and my fall necklace which was my first experiment. As you can see they have one side created with same color #11 seed beads (I call it top spiral) and the other side formed with different size and color beads (I call it down spiral). While maintaining one side with a repetitive movement of uniform loops, keep the other side wild, changing number size and/or color of beads in each loop. Going wild with beads is the most exciting part for me! How about you? I wish I could see what you can come up with using this technique!
