How To Join Threads When Using CRAW Stitch

It is the easiest way to join threads when adding a new thread to the ending one. Please, read below on when and how to use this technique.

How To Join Threads When Using CRAW Stitch

To Knot Or Not to Knot

Making a knot when you are joining threads means I probably won’t be able to undo my beading. Not that I want to undo it, but mistakes happen, and sometimes I am determined to fix it. So, if you are unsure of your beading skills, do not make a knot.

This video is about joining with a knot.

Beads

For this video demonstration, I use 11/0 seed beads. It is possible to hide a knot when you weave with this size of seed beads. However, smaller sizes like 15/0 have a much small hole diameter. Any knot made with even a very thin thread might create a big obstacle when using Cubic Right Angle Weave. Why? Because CRAW stitch is about passing the same bead several times.

So, DON’T use this technique when you bead with 15/0 seed beads.

Secure And Hide The Ends

A knot is an effective way to join threads, but it is unwise to cut them off right next to the knot. Weave the ends of the thread into the beadwork, changing direction several times.

Happy Beading!
